Los Angeles has a very peculiar food culture, with a wide variety of amazing white table cloth restaurants, as well as thousands of drive-through fast food joints that might expect in a place that more or less invented the modern-day car culture.
You’ll find plenty of McDonald’s and Taco Bells, both of which got their starts in Southern California, but you’ll also find a number of lesser-known fast food restaurants that are beloved to those of us who grew up in the area. The most common definition of a “flashpacker” is someone who has the spirit of a backpacker, but who also has the budget and technology preferences that go a bit further. Flashpackers travel with technology and they feel like they are past the stage in their lives when sharing a dorm or hostel with 19 other people is their idea of a perfect holiday.

Earlier this year, our friends at Universal Music picked two winners, Bec and Dan for the My World Tour competition.
They have already travelled around the world to visit and interview headline acts at the Coachella Festival in California, T in the Park in Scotland and Latitude Festival in England.

Our sister airline, Virgin Blue, recently celebrated National Hoodie Day, with some new gear for the Cabin Crew.
The hoodies were worn in support of the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) and Virgin Blue’s four-year sponsorship of the program. This year was the AIME’s first National Hoodie Day, but was quite the success, with fellow supporters including: Ian Thorpe, Libby Trickett, The South Sydney Rabbitohs, The NSW Waratahs and Wendell Sailor; business man Andrew Forrest and entertainer Adam Spencer.
