Seasonal cocktails (like gingerbread apple martinis), cider, eggnog and cookies will be served throughout December from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. at the famed Millennium Biltmore Hotel. On Wednesdays, live jazz performances liven up the joint from 4–7 p.m. For a little more refinement, winter afternoon tea, sandwiches, scones and desserts will be served Wednesday–Sunday from 2–5 p.m.

The 10-day American Film Institute’s Los Angeles International Film Festival is the longest-running LA film festival. It features competitions of films by new filmmakers and showcases the latest works of established masters. Screenings take place at ArcLight Cinemas. 866.234.3378.
Los Angeles has a very peculiar food culture, with a wide variety of amazing white table cloth restaurants, as well as thousands of drive-through fast food joints that might expect in a place that more or less invented the modern-day car culture.
You’ll find plenty of McDonald’s and Taco Bells, both of which got their starts in Southern California, but you’ll also find a number of lesser-known fast food restaurants that are beloved to those of us who grew up in the area.
